Peaberry
Coffee trees produce red or purple fruits called drupes. Drupes typically contain two coffee beans. Sometimes, very rarely, the drupes will contain only one coffee bean. When a drupe contains only one coffee bean it is called a Peaberry. This phenomenon occurs only about 5% of the time.
Peaberry coffee beans are much smaller in size and twice as robust in flavor. Because the seed inside the cherry is much smaller, the acidity is also higher than in regular Arabica beans. Coffees made with these special Peaberry beans are delicious.
Keep in mind the nature of the Peaberry, its smaller and has a higher concentration of flavor. Expect your coffees, in Peaberry form, to be a tantalizing experience.
